In the second of this series presented by DARCH*, a number of young thought-provoking and talented Sydneysiders will be put to the challenge of reshaping our city. In a frenetic and energetic display of team work, these creative teams will have three hours to complete a design task that city planners have been pondering for centuries: the perfect city. With only what they have at hand, teams will create physical models to explain concepts from sustainability, densification and place making, through to public transport, education and history.
This event is again staged at Customs House taking advantage of the city model located below the glass floor; providing the perfect opportunity to propose and speculate about our future. This is a live event. You are invited to drop in during the course of the day. Come to the 1pm briefing where the challenge will be set, drop in throughout the afternoon to see the progress or return at the event's close to see the masterpieces and hear from teams and judges.
*DARCH is a group of emerging architects, members of the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter. They organise many cultural and political events with a design focus.
