About the Festival

The third annual Sydney Architecture Festival will be held on Monday 5 October 2009.  Last year's event attracted over 6,000 participants.

The Festival provides thought provoking new perspectives on Sydney by developing the community's appreciation and enjoyment of good architecture and communicating the importance of good design in achieving a sustainable, healthy and culturally rich built environment. > more

Kids' Design Challenge

Kids' Design Challenge sponsored by Sydney Water. This is the final presentation of a program on the built environment that is run throughout the year in primary schools by the Education Department with the assistance from the architectural fraternity.

Children will be on the forecourt from 9.30am and will receive a participation certificate at 12.00pm.

All Welcome

Barrels and barrels of lego. Build the eco city of the future.  All you need to bring is your kids and your creative imagination.

Children’s Architectural Tour

For younger children

This is your last chance to visit the Glenn Murcutt exhibition at the Museum of Sydney after an architect led tour from Customs House.

Competition and Workshop

COMPETITION WINNER

For 13-21 year old budding Max Dupain photographers.

Bring your own camera to this very special workshop on the art of architectural photography. There will be a short discussion as you view a small exhibition - Max Dupain @ Circular Quay curated especially for this purpose by Eric Sierins.

The group will then take a short tour to view and photograph a selection of iconic buildings close by with the notable architectural photographer, Eric Sierins from Max Dupain and Associates.

Congratulations to Anastasia Scoggin you are the competition winner! Thanks  to Max Dupain & Associates who has generously donated a framed photograph of the Syndey Opera House for the prize.
