Srinath Perera

Professor Srinath Perera is the Director of Centre for Smart Modern Construction and holds the chair in Built Environment and Construction Management in the School of Computing Engineering & Mathematics at Western Sydney University. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, a Project Manager and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Builders. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of NSW in 2017. He holds a PhD from University of Salford, UK. Professor Perera is a pioneer in the field of construction informatics where he integrated AI technologies to construction management developing his research in the area of e-business in construction. He has published several text books and over 200 publications. His research in the use of Blockchains and BIM in construction is world leading that resulting in trustworthy and cost-efficient construction supply chains that enables, product compliance, monitoring, managing carbon and waste in construction projects. He has supervised and examined over 20 doctoral candidates worldwide. Professor Perera is the founding director of the Master of Project Management at Western Sydney University. He was recently awarded DVC award for Industry engaged research by the university and Australian Institute Building award for 'Professional Excellence in Building' in the category of 'Research, Development and Technology in July 2019.
